FTT announces its strategic alliance with QUAKE GLOBAL Fleet Tracking Technologies had sign up with Quake global an agreement to use Quake’s satellite communicators in FTT AVL solutions. FTT sign up with Satamatics Fleet Tracking Technologies had sign up with Satamatics, the exclusive operator of Inmarsat D+ network, an agreement to use Satamatics network in FTT AVL applications.
Standing for Automatic Vehicle Location, an AVL system is a solution consisting of a tracking device and a monitoring software application that utilizes modern electronic location technology such as GPS and cellular communication such as GPRS. An AVL solution allows users to automatically locate vehicles equipped with a tracking device without having to query for vehicles' location nor having drivers reporting to the office at any time. An A VL system provides vehicle's' physical address and positions them on a scaled map on a computer screen. Vehicles' locations are always associated with at least a date and time record. In the case of FTT, the Halo is the tracking device, and the Online AVL software is the monitoring application.
The Passive Tracking System modality refers to stand-alone GPS Receivers, which store data for further process. Passive systems are typically limited to vehicle tracking only. When a Passive Tracking Device is installed in a vehicle, the location, time, velocity and heading data is usually stored in the unit or transferred to a handheld device and downloaded from the vehicle when the vehicle returns to their base station. Our Passive Tracking Systems have several ways of storing and downloading data, they offer a low cost solution to companies who don not have a need to view their logistic - fleet information (ex. Notify speed violations, forbidden area entries, stops and other conditions) in real-time as Real Time Tracking Systems offer.
The FTT passive "recordable" device is a unique combination of GPS data recorder and spread-spectrum radio wireless data reporting system. The mobile unite receives GPS data from the GPS satellite system and records the data for later download. The unit has the capability of downloading large amounts of detailed data in a cost-effective manner with the spread-spectrum radio when within range of the base modem. That information can be displayed on the base computer in either tabular or map format.
The software includes Route Optimization and address locator services. This flexibility and cost-conscious approach allows the system to be very economical while still providing detailed reports for monitoring purposes. The vehicle unit includes two antennae, a radio port connector and a power cable. Base system includes download software, spread-spectrum base modem, power converter and connector for computer.
